IFITT Doctoral Summer School
Between July 8-9, 2013 IFITT and the eTourism Lab at Bournemouth University will hold a doctoral summer school, offering young researchers at early stages the possibility to discuss their research topics and receive useful advices from experienced researchers.
Pre-summer school: July 6-7, 2013
The pre-summer school will consist of exciting social activities like a visit to Bournemouth Beach and the Jurassic Coast and will help the participants to make first contacts and establish a comfortable atmosphere.
1. Day: July 8, 2013
- Welcome by IFITT President Dimitrios Buhalis and the workshop chairs Alessandro Inversini and Barbara Neuhofer
- Keynote presentation about “Travels in ICT4D from reluctant tourist”, by Professor Tim Unwin.

- Parallel sessions where researchers at early stages will have the opportunity to discuss their research ideas and receive valuable, topic-specific feedback on their research progress.
- Workshop: ‘IFITT Next Gen’ themed: ‘Manifesto, Initiatives, Future plans’
–> In order to make the most of the parralel sessions, participants are strongly advised to submit a short abstract (500-800 words) by May 13, 2013 (extended deadline). Those abstracts that are accepted will be collected in an online publication called ‘Letters from IFITT Doctoral School 2013’. Summer School Post-event: July 10, 2013.

ENTER 2014
In 2014 ENTER brings together the research community and the industry in Dublin between January 21-24 and offers a fantastic programme centred around the opportunities and challenges within the social inspiration context.
ENTER 2014, which is organised by the International Federation of Information Technology in Travel and Tourism (IFITT), offers a unique forum for attendees from industry, academia, government, and other organisations to actively exchange, share, and challenge the state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism.
Following its main theme ‘Where Social Inspiration Meets Dynamic eTourism Innovation’, the 21st version of the ENTER conference is aimed at discovering the opportunities and challenges with the social inspiration context, exploring technology concepts, applications and business models in travel and tourism.
The comprehensive programme of the conference contains a range of interesting presentations that will be organised in three streams: ‘research focus’, ‘destination focus’ and ‘industry and innovation focus’. These will be underlined by several main topics, such as:
