Oncology dietician Janna Jeffery has given the readers of Network Health Dietetic magazine an insight into her daily life as a postgraduate researcher at Bournemouth University. Janna has written about her transition from practitioner to researcher for NHD’s ‘Day in the Life’ series (Issue 65).
Jaana has recently put aside her clinical work to study a PhD full-time within the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Research and Education. For the next few years, she will investigate why women with breast cancer seem to gain weight following their diagnosis. Jaana plans to explore whether this weight gain is linked to something biological or psychological and what part, if any, the medical management of the disease might play.
