Coca Cola refreshed staff and students on Talbot campus today in the name of the Olympics.
Olympics and Coca Cola have teamed up as part of a dedicated search to find inspirational students or Future Flames – to carry the Olympic Flame during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
Coca-Cola, a presenting partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, will be calling on everyone to nominate the Future Flames they know: students who use their passion in areas like sport and physical activity, music and dance, and community and the environment; to spread happiness at their institution or in their local communities.
Bournemouth University is one of few universities in the South West that was chosen for the lucky promotion, not just because we have thirsty students, but because of BU’s important ties with the Olympic sailing team.
BU is on the doorstep of the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy, one of the London 2012 host venues, with the universities panel of experts actively involved in events.
Tony Horner, Students’ Union President at BU, (far left), said outside the Coca Cola Olympics bus,
“Holding a leg of the Olympic torch tour is a fantastic opportunity, not only for the university but for the students, the local school children and residents. This really is a community event and we are so very proud to be a part of the tour.”
Students were queuing at length to touch the Olympic torch, and of course to get their hands on free Coca Cola refreshments.
