On 14 July you can hear BU’s Professor Seán Street on Radio 4 talking about the French film director, Jaques Demy (famed for creating the film musical ‘The Umbrellas of Cherbourg’). The programme is to mark Bastille Day and Seán joins the actress Cetherine Deneuve! You can find out more about the programme here
Seán’s poetic feature ‘Then-Now’ will also be repeated on Radio 4 on 22 July. Sean describes the piece as “an experimental programme about time in which I and the producer Andy Cartwright, invited listeners from all over the UK to send us a recording of the same minute, and then made a radio poem out of them all – about 120 in all.”
This fascinating programme was first broadcast in 2006, and won a New York Radio Festival World Medal for editing.
