UKRO Webinar: COVID-19 and EU Funding Update – 3/4/20

UKRO is pleased to announce the latest in its series of webinars, which will take place at 10.30-11.30 (UK time) on Friday 3 April on the topic of ‘COVID-19 and EU Funding update’.

The webinar is intended to provide an overview of the current situation regarding COVID-19 in relation to EU Research and Innovation and will cover (in brief) areas such as:

  • UKRO services during the COVID-19 ‘quarantine’ period;
  • Known call updates and changes to call deadlines;
  • Project implementation issues and solutions in light of COVID-19 restrictions.

The webinar is intended for researchers and support staff currently engaged in projects or applying to forthcoming calls, to make them aware of the latest information on COVID-19 in respect to proposal development and project delivery.

The webinar will be delivered using the ‘Zoom’ online conference facility. No prior purchasing of software is necessary but registration via the event page is mandatory for participation.

The webinar is accessible to all individuals registered on the UKRO portal. BU has a subscription to UKRO and so all BU staff can register for an UKRO account through the UKRO site.

VISTA AR – Interreg have released promotional video about the people behind their projects

Bournemouth University as a partner is involved in Interreg project “Visitor experience Innovation through Systematic Text Analytics and Augmented Reality” (VISTA AR).

The project deals with development and implementation of a range of exciting augmented reality and virtual reality experiences for a number of tourist attractions in the South of England and the North of France.

The Vista AR project is featured in a promotional video of Interreg. In the video Prof Andi Smart (project PI, University of Exeter) introduces the project.

Post-Doc Researcher on VeggiEAT Project

 

We are happy to welcome our new post-doc on the VeggiEAT project Dr Vanessa Mello-Rodrigues.

Vanessa MelloRodriguesVanessa is a Registered Nutritionist and holds both a Ph.D. and Master degree in Nutrition from Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Vanessa’s research interests are mainly related to policy aspects of health promotion and nutrition, with attention to the prevention of childhood overweight and obesity through the promotion of healthy eating. She has been involved in projects related to different aspects of food and menu labelling, which were supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
