Colleagues,
You are most welcome to join us for today’s research process seminar. Hosted in FMC but open to all. It’s one that should appeal to many people across the University as it takes on a fairly universal part of the research process, but examines different ways we might approach it.
Literature review as a research methodology: Approaches and challenges – by Dr. Silvia Ravazzani (Università IULM, Milano, Italy)
In this talk I will deal with literature review as a research methodology. While conducting a rigorous literature review is basically part of any sound research project and output dissemination process, scholars in many research fields are challenged with the tremendous acceleration of knowledge production as well as fragmentation and interdisciplinarity. With this premise in mind, I will try to sketch out possible approaches (e.g., systematic review) as well as key challenges (e.g., in sample selection) based on my own experiences and on academic articles addressing various methods associated with undertaking quality literature reviews.
