Getting started in public engagement with research
Thursday 4 November – 11:00 – 12:30
Public engagement with research (PER) is important for impact, community engagement, identifying research priorities, among other benefits. It is also increasingly valued as a skill in researchers, and by funders.
This workshop aims to get academics from zero or little PER experience to a position where they are confident carrying out activity with awareness of audience, delivery and evaluation.

Getting started with research impact: What is it?
Tuesday 9th November – 14:00 – 15:00
What exactly is research impact? Why is it so important? And how do you ensure that your research has impact?
This interactive online workshop will provide an overview of research impact for those who are new to research or the impact agenda. It will look at why impact matters, the different types of impact, how to plan and evidence impact in your own research and outline the support available from the Knowledge Exchange and Impact Team (KEIT) in RDS.
