BU has been successful in its application to join the UK Malaysia University Consortium (UK-MUC) that was established under the Going Global Partnerships Programme and the British Council in Malaysia. The consortium aims to promote mutual understanding on a global scale by expanding international higher education in terms of teaching, research and knowledge exchange between the UK and Malaysia.
The UK-MUC has the objectives:
- to build mechanisms to increase commitment and strategic partnerships to address shared priorities between universities in the UK and Malaysia;
- to support the advancement of quality teaching, learning, research and university systems through people development with shared expertise between the UK and Malaysia;
- to identify and facilitate innovative UK-Malaysia collaborative programmes and knowledge exchange in higher education for mutual benefit and HE internationalisation.
BU is one of 16 UK universities who have been appointed to join the consortium alongside 20 Malaysian public universities.
The consortium was officially launched on the 30th March 2022 with a hybrid event in Sunway Malaysia, where UK colleagues joined virtually.
If you currently have an ongoing collaboration with universities in Malaysia or you would like to find out more about getting involved in the consortium, please email GlobalBU@bournemouth.ac.uk
