The 21-25 September marks National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) across the UK

UK National Postdoc Appreciation Week is an annual nationwide event celebrating the vital contributions postdocs and early-career researchers make to research and university life.

To kick off the week, staff and researchers across Bournemouth University are invited to attend this year’s free UK Flagship Online Event. With the research environment constantly evolving, the 2026 theme focuses on “The Changing Landscape of Postdoc Careers.”

What to Expect

Creative Academic Reflection: Explore and understand your academic journey through guided, creative language play and poetry.

Skills Workshop: Practical activities designed to help you map out and navigate your future career exploration.

Funder Panel & Live Q&A: An honest discussion featuring representatives from major funding bodies, including UKRI and the British Academy, covering the current realities and future changes in academic funding.
