Growing influence of BU presence at worldwide physiotherapy conference

student research cfarrance

The momentum is growing and our influence is steadily increasing.  The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) is the sole international voice for physical therapy, representing more than 350,000 physiotherapists worldwide.  Their congress is held every four years.  In 2007 there was a solo representative from BU (Carol Clark) with a single presentation; by 2011 our presence had doubled with Judith Chapman also attending and three papers being presented.  Four years on there will be three BU representatives attending with the following staff having their work presented this year in Singapore:

Ahmed Khattab, Jonathan Williams, Clare Farrance, Fotini Tsofliou, Judith Chapman and one physiotherapy student: Chris Dorey

Chapman, J., Williams, J. 2015. Critical reflective practice and continuing professional development – Box ticking or deep learning? 17th International Congress of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy Singapore 1st – 4th May, 2015
