Serving as the selected ASET Trustee representative on the judging panel of the National Undergraduate Employability Awards was a great honour and amazing experience. As ASET, the UK Work Based and Placement Learning Association, has been a long time award sponsor, it was wonderful to be involved with the Awards in this way.
I was greatly impressed by the quality of the submissions. All of the shortlisted candidates showed clear initiative, innovation and dedication to undergraduate student employability. Judged on the categories of showcasing excellence, innovation and impact, and making invaluable contributions to business and industry, clear examples of creative and innovative Best Practice amongst the sector were demonstrated.
The Student Awards include: Best Placement Student, Best Intern, Best Contribution to a Small to Medium-sized Enterprise, and New Best Brand Manager.
The University Awards include: Best University Placement Service (Both Under and Over 100 Placements), Best University Careers / Employability Service, Most Improved Commitment to Employability, Outstanding Contribution to Work Experience, and Best Collaboration between a University and Employer.
The Employer Awards include: Top Undergraduate Employer, Top Medium-sized Undergraduate Scheme, Best Small to Medium-sized Employer, Best Diversity Initiative in Work Experience, Best Short-term Insight Scheme, Best Recruitment Marketing Campaign, and Best Collaboration between a University and Employer.
A true celebration of student employability, I would highly recommend everyone interested in this area to attend.
