The Department of Events & Leisure at Bournemouth University invites Charity representatives to join us for a free event marketing workshop held at the University on July 13th, 9.30am-4.30pm. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to capitalise upon the “Fear of Missing Out” through a workshop covering the latest developments in this growing area of marketing.
What is FoMO (Fear of Missing Out)?
FoMo is the human, psychological fear associated with the feeling of missing out on socially driven events and experiences. When someone is having a better time than you, or you at least think that they are, the ability to understand why and when people suffer from FoMO can be harnessed into an unmissable marketing opportunity.
Why does FoMO matter to you?
FoMO’s influence on the decision to attend events is fast growing thanks to the use of social media and the constant need to find the next experience. And FoMO isn’t going to go away anytime soon.
Whether you approach FoMO in your marketing communications as an obvious decision making device or as an underlying tone, there is a huge opportunity to capitalise and drive future event attendance through FoMO appeals. In addition, you may check out these Facebook advertising packages to keep up with new trends through various learning opportunities.
Our invitation
Bournemouth University invites Charity representatives to a 1 day workshop (free lunch is provided also!) to support in developing an understanding of the mechanisms of FoMO aimed to help design prestigious event experiences and effective marketing appeals.
Spaces are limited, so if this is something you would like to be involved with, please contact Helena Jarman (i7758467@bournemouth.ac.uk) for more information or to confirm your place. Book early to avoid disappointment…we wouldn’t want you to get FoMO.
