BU Research Blog

On Thursday 15 November Prof. Padam Sinkhada gave his inaugural lecture at the University of Chester, where he recently became Dean of Global Impact & Research.  Padam presented a facinating mixture of his personal journey and impactful research.  A story which started in rural Nepal and resulted in this senior UK academic post.

Padam has been collaborating on many research projects in Nepal with Bournemouth University (BU) academics for many years.  He has over 140 joint academic publications with BU academics.  His BU co-authors include: Prof. Vanora Hundley, Dr. Catherine Angell, Dr. Steve Trenoweth, Dr. Pramod Regmi and Prof. Edwin van Teijlingen, all in the Faculty of Health, Environment & Medical Sciences (HEMS) as well as Dr. Shanti Farrington in the School of Psychology.  We are honoured to have Prof. Simkhada as Visiting Professor at Bournemouth University.  The University of Chester invited HEMS’s Prof. Edwin van Teijlingen to gave the formal thank-you address after Padam’s inaugural session.
