Ethics Training

BU offers several avenues for research ethics training:

  • The Research Ethics e-module – in order to access this training, login to BrightSpace.   All Staff/Students undertaking Research at BU must complete Ethics 1: Good Research Practice.  Those working with Human Participants should also complete Ethics 2.

Where to find the ethics e-learning modules:

On Brightspace – staff should:

  • Click on the Research & Knowledge Exchange Development Framework
  • Click ‘content
  • Scroll down to “Ethics Modules” (left-hand menu)

Students (UG and PGT): See ‘Where to find the ethics modules on Brightspace

On Brightspace – PGRs should:

  • Click on the Doctoral College: Researcher Development Programme
  • Click ‘content
  • Click ‘Domain C: Research Governance and Organisation
    • Scoll down the contents list to “Online module: Ethics 1 – Good Research Practice” and “Online module: Ethics 2 Working with Human Subjects
