Ideally looking for climate/environment-related research, though all welcome to enquire.
Would you like to share your research with a public audience in an informal online setting?
Due to unforeseen availability issues, at fairly short notice we’re looking for someone to speak at our next Café Scientifique event, taking place 7-8:30pm on Tuesday 2 November 2021.
To coincide with COP26, we’re ideally looking for someone with climate or environment-related research. However, please do get in touch even if your work doesn’t fit this brief – we may still be able to feature you.
Café Scientifique is a format in which you talk about your research for about 40 minutes, followed by a short break, before returning for around 40 minutes of questions and discussions with the audience. We’ll be holding the event online, meaning you can take part from wherever you’re based.
The audience is a mixed general public audience, interested in learning more about research. It’s always a friendly atmosphere and the questions are often surprising and insightful.
You can read about the experiences of past Café Sci contributors on the Research Blog.
If you’re interested, please send a short summary of the research you’d like to present to publicengagement@bournemouth.ac.uk. We will confirm as soon as possible whether you have been selected, and explain the next steps.
We will handle the marketing, event logistics and running the event. Our host, Sharon Docherty, will host the event on the night and work with the audience. We just need you to provide the content and engage in discussion.
If you have any questions, contact publicengagement@bournemouth.ac.uk
